- - - - Conventions of the genres that make up the hybrid are easily noticeable.
      - The effect that the combined genres create for the audience (e.g. tension in a thriller) is easily achieved through editing and the variation of shot types.
      - Enigma and action codes are still used effectively to enhance and drive a hybrid film's narrative.
    - - Lighting can be an issue. For instance, when creating a horror drama, low-lit rooms can be quite hard to film in.
      - Mise-en-scene as a whole could be difficult to organise as the costumes and setting of a hybrid have to be specific to conform to the combined codes and conventions of the combined genres.
      - The conventions of some genres (i.e. thriller)
        can be associated with other genres, causing confusion for the audience.
      - The filmmaker needs to ensure that there is a balance between each genre, e.g. when creating a comedy-drama, comedy shouldn't be the main focus of the narrative.
