Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Research
In my mini brief, I did not carry out enough research
which lead to having regrets as my mini brief would have been at a much higher standard if i were to have researched more such as sounds and costumes used in the romance genre.
By making a comparison between the research I had carried out in my mini brief to my main brief, I have included a lot more research. This is because i felt that it was more important to look further into the mise-en-scene, camera angles, sound and editing that are involved in a horror film.
I had also looked further into the horror genre and was focusing on researching the sub-genres in horrors as there are many different types.
I had also improved my research by researching my target audience which I then related to the research i had carried our such as the passive audience theory.
Planning
Planning was a very important aspect to consider when getting ready to film. The planning we carried out for our mini brief was very minimal compared to our main brief. For our mini brief, we had not planned for the set roles each individual in the group would follow. Therefore, there were discussions about each others roles during the time we should have started filming.
Due to us having a longer duration of time to complete our main brief, we were able to discuss job roles and focus on what each of the roles requires us to do. We were also able to plan for the day we would film as we would look at the weather forcast and decide on what day we wished to film.
Time Management
By judging on the time we had to complete this task, it was very important that we focused on our time management in order to complete everything needed by the deadline given and to prevent rushing though our work.
Our time management was good as we managed to complete everything without having to rush through. However it could have been better if we were to have made a production schedule to note down what we plan on completing each day.
For our main brief, we managed our time much better as this time we had a production schedule which was able to guide us. From having this schedule, we were able to decide which days we would edit, add sounds, film etc.
By documenting for each day during the weeks, we were able to ensure that everyone in the group was aware of what we plan of doing for each day.
